Johnny Ive returned to the design of Apple products
Jonathan Ive returned to managing a team of designers working on the appearance of future Apple products, reports Bloomberg referring to the company’s representatives. The decision to return the top manager to the design of new products was taken by the management after the delivery of Apple Park, whose construction I’ve personally controlled.
“With the completion of the Apple Park construction, Joni Ive will once again lead the team of designers engaged in developing future products of the company,” Apple spokeswoman Amy Bessett told Bloomberg. “Returning to the old duties will allow Aiv to concentrate entirely on the design of [forthcoming novelties].”
Jonathan I’ve remained Apple’s vice president of industrial design until July 1, 2015. It was then that he occupied the post of the chief director for design (CDO), created specifically for him, which envisaged work on the interiors of the company’s new campus, which had been built during the last two years.
Initially, the management decision of Apple Inc. about the need for personnel reshuffle, however, it was not obvious to everyone. The constant absence of Aiv at the company’s presentations aroused concern among fans of his work, who believed that there was a serious conflict between Sir Jonathan and Tim Cook.
